Ben was selected from a huge number of applications from a large pool of proposals and began with a residency at Dance4 in Nottingham followed by this residency at NN Contemporary Art.
Speaking about the commission Ben said: ‘I’m delighted to start this research with a residency at Dance4. In this research I’m looking forward to exploring a practice that inhabits spaces through a considered way of interacting with a collection of wooden tripods in motion along a pathway, a kind of mobile DIY self build, forming and reforming, dissolving, resting, passing through, finding location, being disturbed.. I am also looking forward to opening up this research as a means to investigate the nature of self and other through arranging and rearranging the objects in conversation.’
