Freee art collective (Dave Beech, Andy Hewitt, Mel Jordan) have opened their new project Freee-Carracci-Institute at NN. The show will run until Christmas Eve and will have many pop up events taking place in the Public Kiosks that form part of the exhibition. Slogans and opinion-formation lie at the heart of the show and visitors are invited to agree or disagree with the often antagonistic slogans that Freee present. You are welcome to make your own slogans and to select badges you agree with and reject those you don’t. The artists aren’t activists, they are not campaigning for one cause, instead they want to facilitate everyone to make their own mind up and question how those opinions are constructed.
The opening had a specially commissioned firework spelling LOVE & ANGER and a brazier in NN’s Courtyard, which can now be seen in the exhibition as documentation.
