From 15–19 October 2014 our top floor Project Space will be home to artist Olivia Punnett and her project Thread of a Plot: a study of Garden.
Olivia adapts slide projectors with different coloured wires corresponding to images projected throughout the space. Projecting onto wood chip wallpaper, gloss painted panels, concrete tablets, paper or bare wall, the projections and their stands are set up site-specifically in the Project Space.
The projected images are from Olivia’s personal collection, mostly inherited from her grandfather, a journalist from Raunds who was a former colleague of H. E. Bates. Olivia draws upon the work of Bates in her approach to the portrayal of Northamptonshire rural life and, by contrast, colonial Caribbean imagery.
If you are an artist and want to try something experimental, apply to use our Project Space. Details and application forms here.
