Intermission is an experimental work in progress exhibition and open studio by third year Illustration students from The University of Northampton in NN’s top floor Project Space.
The students will be taking over the top floor from 4–8 February 2015 with and shall be open to the public throughout, with opportunities to be involved with workshops and talks. The five day event will involve illustrators working in residence in the NN gallery project space through the week displaying their approaches towards their final major project, testing new mediums and formats for their work. They will be challenging what illustration can be and showing examples of interpretative drawing, model making among other media.
Along the week-long residency we will be recreating the way that illustrators work in their studio and the breadth of contemporary illustration practice.
There will be an open launch party on Thursday 5 February from 4–6pm and a Workshop from 2–4pm on Friday 6 February and talks on Sunday 8 February from 3–4:30pm.
