On Monday 20 October 2014 from 2pm we are delighted to welcome Katharina Stadler to The University of Northampton (Avenue Campus, NN2 6JD) to give her talk Sound Art and Ideology.
Katharina Stadler is a Vienna born conceptual artist and curator as well as founder of the recently established ‘Concept and Theory – Tbilisi’. She studied Music, Film and Theater studies at Humboldt University in Berlin, graduating with a thesis on the interconnection and opposition of voice and silence as worship in Augustine’s writings. Since 2010 Katharina is based in Tbilisi, Georgia, where she has been running the Informal Master Programs at the Center of Contemporary Art from 2011 to 2013 as well as teaching both art and visual anthropology students. She works interdisciplinarily, with different media though preferably sound and is engaged in different collaborations often focusing on discourses on neocolonialism, de/construction of identity/ies and socially induced perceptions and consciousness.
