Number Nine is a four storey building that was originally Franklin’s hotel built in the 1800s. Embedded in NN’s ethos is a flexibility and open approach to working with our building. We are open for artists to work with any aspect of the building.
Our ground floor Gallery space hosts our exhibition programme of temporary exhibitions. The first floor is home to NN Café, an elegant space with its own event programme. Also on the first floor is the Education Space, an area for getting messy and hand-on. The second floor houses NN’s offices and four artist Studios and the top floor is NN’s Project Space and the Loft Meeting Space. At the back we have a spacious courtyard that hosts outdoor events in summer and the Neo Nature garden constructed by Northamptonshire schoolchildren working with artists. Please check back again soon for photographs of the spaces.
We are currently finishing renovations on our top floor and courtyard and they will open to the public in 2014. We have commissioned artists to work with the building and over time site-specific artworks will manifest across NN’s architecture.
Our spaces are available to hire for special events. Whether you need a venue for a corporate event, private party or photo shoot, contact Laura Hogan for information on rates, availability and terms and conditions.
The Studios are currently all occupied, however if you would like to join the waiting list please visit the Studios page for more information.
