Number Nine is a four storey building that was originally Franklin’s hotel built in the 1800s. Embedded in NN’s ethos is a flexibility and open approach to working with our building. We are open for artists to work with any aspect of the building.
Our ground floor Gallery space hosts our exhibition programme of temporary exhibitions. The first floor is home to our cafe space with proprietors The Artist Table Cafe & Bar, an elegant space with locally sourced foods. Also on the first floor is the Education Space, an area for getting messy and hand-on. The second floor houses NN’s offices and five artist Studios and the top floor is NN’s Project Space. At the back we have a spacious courtyard that hosts outdoor events in summer and the Neo Nature garden constructed by Northamptonshire schoolchildren working with artists. Please check back again soon for photographs of the spaces.
We have commissioned artists to work with the building and over time, site-specific artworks will manifest across NN’s architecture. You can find out more about our current semi-permanent artworks aka our long-term guests here.
Our spaces are available to hire for special events. Whether you need a venue for a corporate event, private party or photo shoot, contact Laura Hogan for information on rates, availability and terms and conditions.
Visit the Studios page for more information on how to hire a studio and to join the waiting list.
