The next CVAN EM’s Annual Event: Things Happen is taking place on Friday 18 March from 12–6pm (registration from 11:30am) at Attenborough Arts in Leicester.
Emily Pethick, Director of The Showroom, London in conversation with Janna Graham, Head of Public Programmes and Research at Nottingham Contemporary will set the context for this annual event. Also featuring contributions from members of the network, the afternoon will explore the notion of making things happen; how and why things happen, who makes things happen, how artists (can) make things happen and will consider what needs to happen in the East Midlands.
The event will launch CVAN, EM’s upcoming programme and provide a platform for the collaborative conversation project the Start of Something featuring amongst others, NN’s Artistic Director and Northampton-based artist James Smith. There will be an opportunity to see Attenborough Art’s Lucy and Jorge Orta exhibition and participate in artist-led walks to Leicester’s Cultural Quarter.
£10 admission (including lunch and refreshments). Concessions available (£5)
This event is organised by CVAN, EM in association with Attenborough Arts and is supported by Arts Council England.
