You Move Me opens on Saturday 30 June 2018 with a day of workshops from 11am followed by the launch at 5pm.
The workshops are open to anyone, no experience in performance necessary! Booking is free but essential for the workshop, however you do not need to book for the launch from 5pm. Booking link: here.
The morning workshops will be dynamic and interactive sessions exploring movement, narrative and experimental writing with activities by choreographer Laura Murphy, theatre maker Melanie Wilson and writer Mary Paterson.
In the afternoon you will have the opportunity to engage in interactive presentations from experimental psychologist Jorina von Zimmermann and artist Susan Ryland to learn about social synchrony and the cognitive mechanisms of creative thought. There will also be a chance to take part in a discussion with all the project artists involved in You Move Me.
Take part in a seated group performance led through instruction – you will be guided through a series of simple, instructed gestural movements. This will be simple and should be a fun experience – getting a chance to experience what it’s like to move in sync within a group. This will take place at the start of the launch, which will continue until 7pm.
